Birthday cake!

The only way to do a birthday cake right: buy several jars of sprinkles, pour them all out on the cake of your choosing, jam your favorite cookie in along the sides and top, then add candles and fire.

Want to wish me a happy birthday? Buy a copy of my book.

Poorly planned dinner parties: Liam Neesons.

I'll watch Liam in anything, no matter how many friggen "Taken" sequels they kick out. Next one, I bet they kidnap his dog and he has to team up with a kid from the streets in order to get his beloved Patches back.

I must admit, I'd much rather have an A-Team sequel. Sharlto Copley should be in more things.

I guess we can't have a sequel to "The Grey"...unless it's about the wolves. Or the medical team that has to relocate all the remains from the plane crash.

Whoops. I just made myself sad.

Here: cheer up.

Disney and Lucas sittin' in a tree...

This is how the prologue to "The Walking Dead" started, right?

The Ranch, with Paul Feig

Last week, at the Austin Film Fest, I got to listen to Paul Feig give a little talk about what exactly it is that he does.

He told these stories about "The Ranch", the thinktank-clubhouse of his youth. (The quotations are approximations, not direct, as I wasn't taking dictation during the talk.)  Paul was absolutely delightful to listen to and I'm really looking forward to his next movie, "The Heat", with Sandra Bullock and Mellisa McCarthy, written by the hi-larious Katie Dippold of "Parks and Rec". Keep an eye out for it.
