Inside Out West

My twitter pal @theyoungilkim tweeted something about "Inside Out, but with Kanye West's mind" a few weeks ago and I wrote it down in my sketchbook. Last night, I finally had the time to draw a bit of it.

I like the idea that Kanye's Bing Bong is a jumbo jet that wears funny hats and flies him around to exotic locales.

Paul would like me to tell you all that the plane is "aerogyratic". He means it's aerodynamic and it gyrates.

Aziz Ansari should sit on the admissions board for Harvard University.

Aziz has been on my radar for a while now, but his new $5 special is the first time I've heard one of his sets all the way through without it being ruined for me first by someone elbowing me and whispering the punchlines. You can tell he's a captain of industry because any open mic you go to in any state usually has at least one guy practicing his Aziz cadence. 

He's chiefly responsible for my fondness for the Jay-zee/Kanye West "Watch the Throne" album.
